In LACE photography is getting ready for a very busy next few months. With Christmas around the corner, and Valentines Day on the horizon, we are doing our best to make sure that each of our clients is as prepared for their session as possible. This is why we wanted to do a blog that was solely dedicated to informing our clients about how to make the most of their session! Here are our thoughts...

When you chose LACE, we go above a simple studio amenities; providing music (requests welcome), goodies to snack on (chocolate, fruit, and other light refreshments) and a devoted staff to give you the most breathtaking pictures! We are constantly updating our prop inventory and acquiring new backgrounds to give you the best photographic experience in the city, and at unbeatable prices too! We honor each girls uniqueness and strive to capture their personalities and cater to every individuals idea of what they want for that special someone. To make sure you are ready here are the things you should do to prepare for the day...


Preparing for the "main event"...
THE OUTFITS: The wardrobe for the main event is one of the most important things. Its what makes us girls feel confident and is the same thing that makes them drool. Looking for the perfect pieces?! There are a lot of great options locally to find some of the cutest outfits out there and avoid the crazy shipping charges and problems with fittings. Undone is a local lingerie and shoe company that sells a variety of designers to fit every body type and budget. They often host fun fashion shows and events alike to premiere their newest acquired collections!  Another great local option is SugarKitty Corsets, specializing in custom corsets and accessories! All SugarKitty corsets are handmade from only the best materials, and are primarily known for custom, one-of-a-kind corsets, but in the SugarKitty Etsy shop you'll find sample corsets, standard-sized corsets, and costume pieces. Other great sources for sexy lingerie are pieces from Trashy, Agent Provocateur, Victoria's Secret, TJ Max, Filennes Basement, and Pinup Girl Clothing. For a more vintage flair shop the local vintage stops for fun robes, baby-dolls and silky nighties (try Mad 4 Mod, Flower Child, and Art Del La Moda)!

CREATIVE OUTFIT IDEAS: Some alternative, more creative ideas, for your outfits can be as simple as raiding your partners closet (your boyfriend's favorite weekend tee, his best tie, and button up or your girlfriend's favorite robe, teddy, and her favorite accessory) all make excellent options and cost nothing! Don't forget the cuff links, and the sentimental things! If you choose to go this route make sure to be stealthy, as these may cost nothing but the surprise if they happen catch you in the act: white lie permitted!

ACCESSORIES: Accessories are really important. Accessories tell a lot about each of us, what matters to us, how trendy, classic, or alternative we are. Whether it is a homemade mask, vintage leather cuff, or is just your favorite necklace from Forever 21, bring them all! The more you bring with you, the easier it is for us to make sure we capture everything that is uniquely you!

RESEARCH: It's not just for the collegiate! Just like a consultation with a brand new hair dresser, knowing what you want before you get there, and what looks good on you, are sure factors in how successful your new do will be. We encourage our clients to look at other boudoir photographers, styles, blogs, and even just practice in the mirror! We firmly believe that the more time you invest in preparing for you session, the more comfortable you will be, and will ultimately give you better pictures! So don't be shy get out there and start researching!


The night before...
MUSIC: If you hadn't already let us know your requests for tunes to play, then make sure your own are ready and your MP3 player is charged and ready to go! There's nothing like your favorite tunes to set the mood and make it easier to get into character.

SLEEP: Beauty rest-don't underestimate it! Getting enough sleep the night before is important to make sure that you are fully awake to devote your undivided attention to making it the best possible experience!

STEAMED, PRESSED, and PACKED: Make sure you have everything packed and ready to go. Take it from us, packing the day of your session ensures you will forget something! Its much easier to make a list, prepare, and pack everything the night before. That way in the morning, you have fresh eyes to review what's in your bag, and what's been forgotten...


At LACE we do our best to make sure we're prepared even if you're not quite. We have a steamer, iron, a few freshly laundered lingerie pieces and robes for use. We are also happy to help style your shoots, and reference materials for you before we shoot. Premire Launch of In LACE Photography

Here we are: the launch of our new site, business, partnership, and mission! In LACE Photography is a brand new, modern boudoir studio in Clintonville, OH. Run by two recent graduates of the prestigious Columbus College of Art and Design, we cater particularly to the everyday woman who wants to feel special and give herself esteem a little well-deserved treat!
