It will soon be featuring riveting new venues, interviews with the top creatives in floristry, catering, wedding planning and more! Hello everyone! Happy new year! To kick off 2011, In LACE Photography has made a bunch of changes! We are now a mobile studio serving two locations (Columbus, Toledo, and surrounding areas)! As we were struggling to find the perfect studio, we decided that being mobile was the most freeing choice. Now we are getting to travel to our clients location of choice! Some of the most exciting venues have included exquisite hotels, quaint bed and breakfasts, our clients own comfy homes, cabins, fields, forests, offices; just about anything our clients can dream up!! We have changed our pricing and a few of our policies but the one thing that hasn't changed is the passion us girls at In LACE have for the people we encounter! Creating these intimate portraits for our clients are one of the best gifts we can ask

Tips and Advice for a Successful Boudoir Session

At In LACE Photography you aren’t attending a photo shoot so much as you are having and enjoying an experience. Kelsey Lakia and Kristin Stevens provide quality care and unprecedented attention to detail in making each woman feel like a million dollars. Fabulous wine and gourmet chocolates are just some of the special elegant touches added to each session with In LACE Photography (my favorite is their Colores De Sol, Malbec). Some women may feel nervous or apprehensive at the thought of Boudoir photography but in my opinion there is nothing better to make a woman feel sexy and empowered. At In LACE Photography you can enjoy the privacy of a professional studio and two female photographers who want nothing more than to make you look beautiful. Once you book a session at In LACE you may want to read over the following tips and tricks to help you have a successful and stunning photo shoot.



Concept- You will want to have a few ideas in mind about what sort of pictures you want, do you want to be lying on satin sheets surrounded by glittering candles? Or would you prefer something more retro like a 1940’s pinup girl? You could even pick something fun and flirty like being surrounded by soft flower petals, or even something sultry like a black and white image of you reclining delicately on a fur rug. If you need more ideas, consult with In LACE, they are sure to have some beautiful concepts that will make you feel super sexy!

Hair and Makeup- Make sure to think about hair and makeup before hand, or consult with In LACE to book a hair and makeup artist for an additional fee. Ask yourself, are my photo’s going to be sensual and sexy? If so, then try smoky eyes and a red lipstick! If you’re going for a more innocent look try a natural makeup with pink lips. Don’t forget to have freshly manicured nails!

Clothing-For clothing ideas lingerie is always a sure bet. Even simple bras and panties can never go amiss. You may want to invest in special lingerie piece that he has never seen before as a surprise, or if you really want to stun, him borrow one of his favorite jerseys or t-shirts! He will love seeing you simply wrapped up in one of his favorite possessions and nothing else! Want to be daring? Check out JoAnn fabrics for a silky piece of chiffon or silk to wrap up in!

Posing and Facials- Check out pictures online of sexy poses you like and practice pretty faces in the mirror. Learn your body's angles and what it looks best in. Also don't forget to practice your expressions in the mirror. As a model I always try to get into character. I often think of a scene to help make my expressions as authentic as possible. Still Lost? Don’t Worry!! In LACE is skilled at posing their clients at the most attractive angles to flatter their bodies and achieve the most beautiful picture!

UNDONE: Belated...

Bonjour everyone! Its been an absolutely CRAZY holiday season, with trying to finish our Christmas orders, preparing ourselves for our own holidays with our families, and preparing for the Valentine's day season. Until now blogging had been on the back burner, so here are our new fabulous updates!

The Undone holiday event was AMAZING! The food and champagne was delightful, the hand massages from Lush were astonishing, and the Purlesque dancers' and Peach Roulette's numbers were intoxicating! After a long night of photographing, drooling at lingerie, and enjoying ourselves, we retired to the studio to relish the night. Here are some great photos from that night!

A diverse group off girls, the Sex Kittens offer Columbus a darker, sexier, display of the world of Burlesque. The bombshells, though sexy as all get out, can be incredibly comedic on stage and will have you memorized at the end of their performance with their talent, beauty and pure sexiness! The Sex Kittens, " The Circus may be the still be the greatest show on Earth, but the Sex Kittens Purr-lesque is for sure the sexiest show here on Earth!" Making the most of your experience...

In LACE photography is getting ready for a very busy next few months. With Christmas around the corner, and Valentines Day on the horizon, we are doing our best to make sure that each of our clients is as prepared for their session as possible. This is why we wanted to do a blog that was solely dedicated to informing our clients about how to make the most of their session! Here are our thoughts...

When you chose LACE, we go above a simple studio amenities; providing music (requests welcome), goodies to snack on (chocolate, fruit, and other light refreshments) and a devoted staff to give you the most breathtaking pictures! We are constantly updating our prop inventory and acquiring new backgrounds to give you the best photographic experience in the city, and at unbeatable prices too! We honor each girls uniqueness and strive to capture their personalities and cater to every individuals idea of what they want for that special someone. To make sure you are ready here are the things you should do to prepare for the day...


Preparing for the "main event"...
THE OUTFITS: The wardrobe for the main event is one of the most important things. Its what makes us girls feel confident and is the same thing that makes them drool. Looking for the perfect pieces?! There are a lot of great options locally to find some of the cutest outfits out there and avoid the crazy shipping charges and problems with fittings. Undone is a local lingerie and shoe company that sells a variety of designers to fit every body type and budget. They often host fun fashion shows and events alike to premiere their newest acquired collections!  Another great local option is SugarKitty Corsets, specializing in custom corsets and accessories! All SugarKitty corsets are handmade from only the best materials, and are primarily known for custom, one-of-a-kind corsets, but in the SugarKitty Etsy shop you'll find sample corsets, standard-sized corsets, and costume pieces. Other great sources for sexy lingerie are pieces from Trashy, Agent Provocateur, Victoria's Secret, TJ Max, Filennes Basement, and Pinup Girl Clothing. For a more vintage flair shop the local vintage stops for fun robes, baby-dolls and silky nighties (try Mad 4 Mod, Flower Child, and Art Del La Moda)!

CREATIVE OUTFIT IDEAS: Some alternative, more creative ideas, for your outfits can be as simple as raiding your partners closet (your boyfriend's favorite weekend tee, his best tie, and button up or your girlfriend's favorite robe, teddy, and her favorite accessory) all make excellent options and cost nothing! Don't forget the cuff links, and the sentimental things! If you choose to go this route make sure to be stealthy, as these may cost nothing but the surprise if they happen catch you in the act: white lie permitted!

ACCESSORIES: Accessories are really important. Accessories tell a lot about each of us, what matters to us, how trendy, classic, or alternative we are. Whether it is a homemade mask, vintage leather cuff, or is just your favorite necklace from Forever 21, bring them all! The more you bring with you, the easier it is for us to make sure we capture everything that is uniquely you!

RESEARCH: It's not just for the collegiate! Just like a consultation with a brand new hair dresser, knowing what you want before you get there, and what looks good on you, are sure factors in how successful your new do will be. We encourage our clients to look at other boudoir photographers, styles, blogs, and even just practice in the mirror! We firmly believe that the more time you invest in preparing for you session, the more comfortable you will be, and will ultimately give you better pictures! So don't be shy get out there and start researching!


The night before...
MUSIC: If you hadn't already let us know your requests for tunes to play, then make sure your own are ready and your MP3 player is charged and ready to go! There's nothing like your favorite tunes to set the mood and make it easier to get into character.

SLEEP: Beauty rest-don't underestimate it! Getting enough sleep the night before is important to make sure that you are fully awake to devote your undivided attention to making it the best possible experience!

STEAMED, PRESSED, and PACKED: Make sure you have everything packed and ready to go. Take it from us, packing the day of your session ensures you will forget something! Its much easier to make a list, prepare, and pack everything the night before. That way in the morning, you have fresh eyes to review what's in your bag, and what's been forgotten...


At LACE we do our best to make sure we're prepared even if you're not quite. We have a steamer, iron, a few freshly laundered lingerie pieces and robes for use. We are also happy to help style your shoots, and reference materials for you before we shoot.
